Ositech Communications Inc. announces the world's first 56K modem with Digital Phone Interface and 10/100 BaseTX CardBus capabilities: the
Jack of
Spades. Ositech's latest combination PC Card allows mobile users to take advantage of faster modem speeds in all environments, due to fully internal
DPI
technology, which enables users to make connections through analog, cellular and digital
phones - a capability no other company can offer. In addition, the
Jack of
Spades offers the most advanced networking capabilities available, incorporating full duplex 10/100BaseTX connectivity, to make full use of portable computers using high bandwidth CardBus architecture.
The modem portion of the Jack of
Spades offers the industry's fastest speed, featuring K56FlexTM technology, in addition to Ositech's exclusive Digital Phone Interface
(DPI) technology.
DPI
technology is fully internal to the PC Card, and enables users to make connections through digital (PBX) phones found in offices worldwide, all without the added difficulty of transporting external adapters. This means users who need access to their email or the Internet while they travel can make analog, cellular and now digital connections, wherever they go - internationally . Not to be confused with Digital Line Guard, Digital Phone Interface actually allows you to connect through digital phones. The Jack of Spades' true universal connectivity means no more hunting for analog lines, or coping with extra baggage, all users need is the
Jack of
Spades.
The networking portion of the Jack of Spades offers 10/100BaseTX CardBus networking capabilities. Internal testing indicates the
Jack of
Spades is consistently demonstrating the outstanding speeds traditional in Ositech's networking PC Cards, while offering the flexibility needed by users as businesses migrate from 10BaseT networks to 100BaseTX. Full duplex capabilities mean users get the most out of their time and network, and Etherboost technology included in the card streamlines information transfer, reducing the time needed for network intensive applications such as graphics and multimedia programs.
The Jack of
Spades Product Manager, Alex Lendvai, describes the Jack of
Spades as the ideal product for users who need to stay on the
cutting edge of capability, saying "The Jack of Spades offers
it all. 56K speed with the universal connectivity of
DPI,
coupled with what is proving to be the industry's fastest
networking card for CardBus users, all at a strongly competitive
price point. It's the best solution for those whose companies are
switching over both to faster modems and faster networks."
The Jack of
Spades will be in the channel January 31, 1998, list price $399 US. For part numbers and additional information, please visit Ositech's website, at
