Ositech Communications Inc. today announces the Jack of Spades, the world’s first combination 56K with Digital Phone Interface + CardBus 10/100 PC Card is now in the channel and available for North American distribution.

The Jack of Spades is a high performance multifunction PC Card, catering to the needs of those who must remain on the cutting edge of communications technology. The Ositech Jack of Spades is the first PC Card successfully to combine V.90 56K modem technology with true CardBus 100Mbps speed, which makes it a natural choice for mobile users as they migrate to faster 100Mbps (FastEthernet) networks. The Jack of Spades additionally includes Ositech’s patented Digital Phone Interface (DPI) , which allows users to make modem connections through digital (PBX) phones, as well as the traditional analog and cellular modes, and an Advanced Power Management feature that powers down the card when it is not in use.

The Jack of Spades was introduced at Fall Comdex in Las Vegas in November 1997, and was widely recognized as an outstanding technological advance for power users. The card was nominated for several awards, including Byte Magazine’s Best of Show Award, and Pc Week’s Best of Show Award.

Senior Product Manager, Michael Dodgson, is pleased that Ositech has again been first to market with this cutting edge combination, stating, "Ositech continues its tradition of setting industry standards for multifunction PC Cards. We earned a reputation as an innovator in this industry, beginning when we were the first company to manufacture multifunction PC Cards, and that reputation is being proved out again with the Jack of Spades.."

The domestic version of the Jack of Spades is now in the channel, under the part numbers TR14486 (single) and TR14488 (10 pack), at list prices of $399US (single) and $3890 (10 pack). Ositech’s TRUMPCARD family of PC Cards is distributed through Ingram Micro, Merisel, Tech Data and EMJ.

Ositech offers an aggressive evaluation program for corporate purchasers, which allows companies to test and examine the Jack of Spades in their own environments and discover the difference in productivity and flexibility Ositech’s PC Cards make. Please contact Ositech’s sales department at 888-OSITECH ext. 400 or at sales@ositech.com for more information on the evaluation program.
