Ositech Communications Inc. today announced a cooperative alliance between Ositech and Standard Microsystems Corporation
(SMSC). The companies have worked together over the last several months to develop SMSC's CardBus Integrated Circuit networking technologies. This has resulted in development of several industry leading PC Cards by Ositech and SMSC getting tested, certified, full form reference designs for their clients.
SMSC has long been recognized as an innovator of IC networking technologies, and Ositech is pleased to be involved in a partnership with the company, particularly in light of SMSC's strong track record and flexibility. SMSC recently added the high performance LAN83C175 to their EPIC family of Fast Ethernet IC Controllers. This Controller offers a feature set that promotes ease of design and high performance while employing the latest Ethernet standards, and has been included as a core of Ositech's two most recent PC Card releases, the single function CardBus 10/100, named the Seven of Spades and the 10/100 CardBus + 56K Modem with
DPI, the Jack of Spades.
Henry Wurzburg, Director of Strategic Marketing for SMSC's LAN and Connectivity Products is pleased with the reference designs for SMSC as a result of this partnership noting, "The availability of production ready reference designs gives designers a tremendous advantage, as design and time-to-market for a single or multi-function CardBus PC Card can be shortened by months. For the company that wants to get into this business easily and quickly, world class OEM manufacturing services are available from
Ositech."
" This partnership is yet another facet of Ositech's development strategy, which is to continuously provide the most advanced technologies in the rapidly evolving mobile computing market to our users," said Dimitrius
Stavrou, Director of Business Development for
Ositech. "Ositech has benefited from the tremendous progress SMSC has made in CardBus Fast Ethernet IC technology and has produced industry leading PC Cards based on this technology. SMSC is taking advantage of the results of Ositech's extensive development and research to provide tested and proven reference designs to their clients."
The single function 10/100 CardBus PC Card, the Seven of Spades and 10/100 CardBus + 56k Modem with
DPI, the Jack of Spades are available in the channel under part numbers TR14495 and TR14486, respectively. For more information on these or any other of Ositech's PC Card products , please call
