Year 2000 Compliance

Ositech is aware of the issues associated with the Year 2000 and is committed to addressing the Year 2000 problem. In order to assist Ositech's customers in their Year 2000 Compliance, Ositech is providing this statement regarding Ositech product compliance and Ositech's Year 2000 readiness.

A product certified as being Year 2000 compliant will not produce errors in date data related to the year change from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000. The handling of leap years will be done correctly. All Ositech products are Year 2000 compliant. Ositech products do not use any type of calendar date storage or manipulation, and therefore will be unaffected by the upcoming Year 2000, leap years, or any other date related issues.

Ositech PC Card Modems:
Ositech modems operate within the physical and data-link layers of the wide area network structure and are not dependent on calendar date. Modem firmware depends only upon elapsed time from power-up or reset, which is derived from an internal clock and independent of calendar date.

Ositech PC Card Network Adapters:
Ositech network adapter hardware operates within the physical and data-link layers of the local area network structure and are not dependent on calendar date. Adapter drivers and management agents supplied by Ositech have no dependency on calendar date.

Ositech Software:
All Ositech software, including installation, diagnostic, and configuration software is not dependent upon the calendar date. DPI(tm) related software is also not dependent upon on the calendar date. Ositech's electronic online manuals are also Year 2000 compliant. Ositech provides, bundled with its products, Communicate! Lite. This software package is Year 2000 compliant. Prior to the summer of 1998, Ositech bundled 01/Faxcom with its products. This software package is not Year 2000 compliant.

This statement does not constitute a warranty or extend the terms of any existing warranty. The user should ensure that any notebook computers or software packages are also Year 2000 compliant.

In addition to its product line, Ositech is currently analyzing its internal systems and processes to verify and address Year 2000 issues. Targeted timeframe for completion is Fall 1999.
