Guelph, Ontario, October 31, 2001: The Sales and Use Tax department of the State of California’s Board of Equalization has selected Ositech’s

The Sales and Use Tax department works with businesses whose products are subject to sales tax, such as furniture stores, giftware boutiques, toy shops, clothing companies, etc. The department’s duties include conducting audits to ensure the accuracy of a company’s tax payments, and checking the status of permits to ensure ongoing validity. Having immediate access to online data at a client site is crucial to expedite both these processes, and is something that was not always available to field inspectors. In the past, they often had to find an analog drop at a client site in order to make a data connection. Not only was the search a time-consuming process, but the telephone outlet would often be located in an inconvenient spot. This makeshift setup would consequently impact productivity and efficiency.
