The Mobile Business Center in Southeast Oklahoma solved their wireless connection challenge by using Ositech's Dual Mode King of Clubs PC Card.

Guelph, Ontario, January 15, 2003: The Little Dixie Community Action Agency has developed a project that every community would wish for.  A full-sized recreational vehicle has been converted into a Mobile Business Center to serve the needs of existing and would-be entrepreneurs in Southeast Oklahoma. The staff of “Business coaching on wheels” provides resources and assistance to local residents to enhance their business or develop new business ideas. Equipped with tools like software programs, notebook computers, a TV and VCR, training videos and access to the Internet, the Mobile Business Center travels a 10½ county area in southeast Oklahoma making designated stops and welcoming those who have the motivation and enthusiasm but may be short of resources. Use of the facilities is free of charge. 

In this age and time, the Internet is an invaluable resource for any business, be it for doing research, disseminating information or selling products. Before discovering Ositech’s CellFlex solution, online access was not always possible when the business center traveled to rural areas with analog network coverage. Instead of purchasing two different solutions, one for analog and one for digital areas, the business center on wheels opted for Ositech’s Dual Mode King of Clubs PC card. This Trumpcard functions not only in analog and digital areas, but also auto-detects the coverage area, making the respective connection.  The director of PRIME (Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs), Clark LeForce, states that Ositech’s King of Clubs PC card is “a wonderful solution to their problem.”

In addition to providing support to entrepreneurs, the Mobile Business Center also educates Grade 10 students on how to create and sustain a business by means of an informative seminar. According to one of the staff members, “The young men in the 10^th grade classes were just amazed that one could access the Internet through a cell phone and the King of Clubs PC card.”
