Ositech
launches ExpressLinkTM
Web Acceleration Service for mobile users.
ExpressLink turbo charges web access for users of narrow-band
links such as Cellular or Dial-up.
Guelph, Ontario, March 1, 2004: Ositech today
announced the availability of
ExpressLink service for mobile users
who need to access the web while away on the road. Using this
service a user can experience an increase of up to 5 times or more
in their connection throughput, when using Cellular or Dial-Up
links to the Internet.
The chart below
highlights the ExpressLink advantage.
Those of us who
need wireless data to enjoy our lifestyle, earn a living or
provide a service are fully aware of the challenges when it comes
to ubiquitous access to the Internet at a reasonable connection
speed. While new high speed technologies are ever pushing these
limits, they are far from being universally available from
anywhere we happen to be. We always have to balance our need for
connectivity with the technology coverage available in the area to
establish a data connection. Use of ExpressLink will enhance the
Web surfing experience for cellular and dial-up users alike. With
ExpressLink, it will feel like a broadband Internet connection for
dial-up users without paying broadband prices. When accessing the
Internet wirelessly, the acceleration service will minimize the
cellular network constraints by enabling one to get to online
information 5 times faster. For high-speed data users, the
benefits will be twofold – the time spent online will decrease and
money will be saved since less data will be downloaded due to
compression.
Time savings and
more enjoyable surfing experiences were the greatest benefits
reported by the acceleration service users who participated in the
field trials. According to Tim Samaras, a storm chaser who has
been using the Ositech CellFlex solution for over a year, “it is
long overdue to have this type of solution for cellular data users
in the field.” John Bolton expressed his excitement after using
the software for a few days: “I can take my laptop on my Cessna
and use this program and my Nokia to get FULL AVIATION WEATHER
RADAR for pennies! “ Some customers were able to access web pages
wirelessly that they were previously not able to.
ExpressLink has been launched with a 15 days
free trial and special price of $9.95 for the first three months.
The service is available at regular monthly or quarterly price of
$6.95 or $14.95 respectively.
