ISDN Communication

ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) is a digital phone system that allows data to be transmitted using end-to-end digital connectivity. With ISDN, voice and data are carried by bearer channels (B channels) occupying a bandwidth of 64 Kbps. Some switches limit B channels to a capacity of 56 Kbps. A data channel (D channel) handles signaling at 16 Kbps or 64 Kbps, depending on the service type.

ISDN allows multiple digital channels to be operated across the line. This scheme permits a much higher data transfer rate than analog lines. Also, the amount of time it takes for a communication to begin on an ISDN line is typically about half that of an analog line. This improves response for interactive applications, such as games.

Ositech's ISDN upgrade kit clears the way for high-speed access to email and Internet when telecommuting from home or the remote office. The ISDN connection kit includes installation and configuration software for easy set-up and use as well as being automatically detected when connected. The active design offloads host processing and dependency of the host OS being used.

With worldwide connectivity and high speed, the Ositech ISDN pod decreases file transfer times and decreases the associated telephone line costs, making it ideal for home offices, remote offices and sales teams requiring high speed Internet connections.
