The Jack of Clubs will work exactly as the serial cables sold by the major suppliers, but leaves your serial port free for other peripherals such as an external mouse. If your laptop only has a USB connection, the Jack of Clubs can give you full connectivity without needing to buy an external adapter – you can use your PC Card slot instead.
In the office, you can use the Jack of Clubs’ versatile Ethernet support to connect to a 10Base-T network. You can also connect your Jack of Clubs Ethernet card to your cable modem and surf with speed from your laptop.
